Ad Infinitum
2023
Ad Infinitum unpacks the constant desire for instant fulfilment. When an object is obtained, the novelty of owning it disappears, causing the consumer to feel unsatisfied once again. And so the cycle goes on.
Exhibited at the 2023 Elam Artists Graduate Show from 24 - 26 November.
Installation shots
Subtly printed on the surface of the metal are fragments of advertisements from LIFE magazines dated back to the 1950s. The content and materiality aim to build relationships with contemporary consumer behaviour – its causes and effects, and the idea of an accelerating society.
